Thursday In Chennai Part 1- packing rice

Bruce Patty Bauman Newsletters 0 Comments

Thursday we loaded in the bus to go to a home where nearly a ton of rice was waiting for us to pack in individual bags for Friday’s rice distribution into the hut slum of Chennai where 6000 people live in utter poverty.

The team tackled the massive 75 kilo (165 lb.) bags of rice and separated them into 250 individual 5 kilo packs. We are coming along side the long term workers in the slum and assisting them in their daily work amongst the slum families. We’re so glad we are able to provde the rice for this project, help bag it up & distribute it in the slum on Friday.

Check back Friday for a report on our time in the slum!
